It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of the 15th Khalifa of the Jama`at of Shehu Uthman ibn Fuduye` in the east, Sultan al-Hajj Abu Bakr ibn Sultan Muhammad at-Taahir ibn Sultan Muhammad Bello Mai Wurno ibn Sultan Muhammad Attahiru I ibn Sultan Ahmadu Zaruku ibn Sultan Abu Bakr Atiku ibn Amir’l-Mu’mineen Shehu Uthman ibn Fuduye`, may Allah illuminate his grave with the lights and fragrances of Firdaus, and benefit all of us by his baraka.

He died  04.05.2016 at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, the 27th of Rajab, 1437 .A.H. (May 3, 2016). Our condolences to every descendent of the Shehu in Sudan, Nigeria, Niger, Burkina, and the Hijaz, and to all of the members of the jama`at of Shehu Uthman ibn Fuduye`, wherever they are. We will post a eulogy and more information once the jama`at in Maiurno have announced the new Sultan.
